10 YEARS AGO (2009): LaMoure scored 15 fourth-quarter points to overtake Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock 45-44 in boys basketball at LaMoure. H-M-B led 35-30 after three quarters. Matthew Schumacher of H-M-B took game scoring honors with 17 points. Aaron Stemen and Brett Hample paced the LaMoure attack with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): Undefeated Center downed Steele-Dawson 60-56 at the Civic Center Jamboree to improve to 12-0. Hard-luck Steele-Dawson dropped to 6-6 on the season with the six losses by a combined total of 14 points. Center's Brandon Wilkens was the key figure in the game. The 6-foot-4 senior boosted Center with 31 points and nine rebounds. At one stretch in the second half he scored 17 of the Wildcats' 19 points.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): John Flemmer poured in 33 points and snagged 33 rebounds to pace Golden Valley to an 85-81 double-overtime victory over the visiting Beulah Miners. George Quast added 22 points for the winning Comets. Terry Elhardt scored 23 poins for Beulah. Brent Wallender and Randy Hyppen added 19 each.
