10 YEARS AGO (2009): Century scored the final three goals of the game to claim a 7-5 boys hockey victory at Mandan. Casey Mischel put the Braves in the lead, 5-4, by scoring the first goal of the third period. Century rallied to win on markers by Richy Weisz, Matt Andre and Jace Kusler.
20 YEARS AGO (1999): Napoleon forfeited at two weights but still outlasted LaMoure 39-33 in Class B wrestling. Dominique Reis (112 pounds), Tom Gross (119), Kelly McCleary (135), Chris Weigel (140) and Robbie Rau (171) registered pins for Napoleon. Todd Porter (130), Rob Hebl (160) and Doug Muske (275) garnered falls for LaMoure.
50 YEARS AGO (1969): A Bismarck High School athlete has been named the top Amateur Athletic Union junior division miler in the nation. Leon Conitz received his honor from Gov. William L. Guy during ceremonies at the state Capitol. Lynae Larson of Foxholm was honored as the state AAU athlete of the year. The junior division includes athletes through the age of 17.
New England’s 37 playoffs wins are the most of any NFL franchise. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won 36 playoff games and Dallas Cowboys 35. The Green Bay Packers rank fourth with 34.
