10 YEARS AGO (2009): Ellendale dug itself out of a hole to claim a 3-2 road volleyball victory against South Border. South Border led 2-1 after taking the third game by a decisive 25-10 margin, but the Cardinals prevailed 27-25 and 15-5 in the final two games. Kelsey Mertz finished with 10 kills 18 digs and three aces for Ellendale.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): David Cook has a part in every score with two goals and two assists while leading Bismarck past Mandan 4-0 in boys soccer. Justin Fischer and Nathan Natwick accounted for the other two BHS goals. The winning Demons upped their West Region record to 8-0-2. Mandan stands 2-7-1.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): Lefty Dennis Pearson cranked out a 692 series in the Rebel League at Midway Lanes. Pearson opened with a 206, shot a 268 in the second game and finished with a 218. Pearson's series was the best set in the Rebel League in at least two years.

Trivia Answer
