10 YEARS AGO (2008): Weston Dressler, a rookie wide receiver with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, is leading the Canadian Football League in punt returns. Dressler has taken back 13 kicks for an average of 14.2 yards. He is a former Bismarck High School and University of North Dakota athlete.

 

20 YEARS AGO (1998): The Bismarck Scarlets banged out 30 hits on the way to a 11-3, 17-12 doubleheader sweep of the Jamestown Blues in American Legion baseball action at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown. Scot Mickelson and Travis Dressler each swatted six hits for the Scarlets. Defensively, Bismarck turned in a triple play in the second game.

50 YEARS AGO (1968): After taking a 10-2 thrashing from Bismarck in the first game, Williston fought back only to fall 4-3 in the nightcap of a Legion baseball doubleheader at Williston. Tim O'Neil singled home the game-winner in the top of the second inning in the second game. O'Neil's RBI single made a winner of relief pitcher Clint Barth.
