10 YEARS AGO (2009): Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal overcame a 2-1 deficit to outlast LaMoure 3-2 in the District 9 volleyball tournament at Ellendale. Kelly Carlson, Jacqueline Thomas and Cierra Steele led a balanced PBK attack with six kills each. Becky Watkins and Kendra Ulmer swatted 12 kills apiece for LaMoure.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): West Fargo defeated Century, Bismarck and Fargo Shanley in a quadrangular swimming and diving meet in West Fargo. Double winners for Century were Kit Wickel (IM, backstroke) and Liz Gero (butterfly, breaststroke).

50 YEARS AGO (1969): The Cathedral eighth-grade gridders downed Christ the King of Mandan in a game played at Hughes Field before an estimated 800 fans. Craig Hessinger and Mike Clairmont each scored two touchdowns for Cathedral, which finished the season undefeated. Christ the King ended the year at 6-1.

Trivia Answer
