10 YEARS AGO (2009): After having his redshirt pulled, University of Mary running back Cameron Gatling introduced himself to Northern Sun football in a big way. The 6-foot, 200-pound freshman from McAllen, Texas, carried the ball 33 times for 184 yards and scored twice while filling in for the injured Jamal Lomax. The Marauders came away with a 39-13 road win.
20 YEARS AGO (1999): Greg Batke ran for 186 yards and three touchdowns as Hazen rolled over Beulah 30-6 in high school football at Hazen. Batke reached paydirt on carries of seven, 40 and 45 yards.
50 YEARS AGO (1969): Led by sophomore Gordon McGregor, Bismarck Junior College captured first place in the state junior college cross country meet at Riverwood Golf Course. BJC, which tallied a low total of 17 points, placed six runners in the top 10. McGregor covered the 4.2-mile course in 21:47. He was followed by Mystic teammates Bruce Guler, Dale Kreiger and Casey Chapman in second, third and fourth places.
The Minnesota Twins have lost nine consecutive playoff series from 2002-2019, the second-longest streak in Major League history behind the Atlanta Braves (2001-2018) and Chicago Cubs (1910-1998), which have both lost 10 series in a row.
