10 YEARS AGO (2008): Century earned its first victory of the season the hard way. The Patriots recovered from a 3-1 deficit to defeat visiting Mandan 5-3 in West Region hockey. Dan Kovar scored twice and Logan Rauhauser and Jace Kusler each scored once as Century tallied the final four goals of the game. Casey Mischel, Jordan Bullinger and David Dobier notched Mandan's goals.

20 YEARS AGO (1998): The University of Mary made short work of Valley City State, winning eight matches in a 41-6 wrestling win at the Activity Center. The winning Marauders got pins from Justin Currie at 157 pounds, Justin Zahursky at 165 and Jason Hatchett at 184. Currie needed just 22 seconds to pin the Vikings' Cory Hanson.

50 YEARS AGO (1968): The Wilton Miners garnered their first Missouri Basin Conference basketball victory, downing Hazen by a score of 64-36. Coach Otto Uhde's Wilton squad placed two men in double figures. Tim Krushe scored 14 points and Randy Sawicki popped in 12. Robert Klein tallied 12 points for Hazen.
