UNITED TRIBES CLAIMS HOME WIN

Herb Augustin came off the bench to make six 3-pointers and score 22 points to spark United Tribes to a 78-69 home victory over Williston State College on Monday night.

The Thunderbirds outscored Williston State 46-37 in the second half after playing to a 32-all tie at halftime.

Cecelio Montgomery added 17 points for United Tribes, which improved to 1-1 in Mon-Dak play and 9-6 overall. Tate Bear posted 19 points and six rebounds in the win. Nike Jiles finished with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.

United Tribes heads to Bottineau on Thursday to face the Lumberjacks.

ASKVIG EARNS WEEKLY NSIC HONOR

University of Mary senior Cassie Askvig has been named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week.

Askvig averaged 34 points and 5.5 rebounds as the Marauders split with Minnesota-Duluth at St. Cloud State. Askvig made 62.8 percent from the floor and went 13-for-14 from the free throw line.

The Marauders (12-7) host Sioux Falls on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
