GRAND FORKS -- Bismarck is a presence in both the singles and doubles semifinals as the state boys tennis tournament enters its final day.
Senior Mason Pitcher of Century is one of four singles players remaining in the championship bracket. Pitcher, the No. 1 seed from the west, meets Kaden Johnson of Grand Forks Red River, No. 2 in the East, this morning at 10 in one semifinal. Logan Sandberg, No. 3 from the East, meets Grand Forks Central teammate Gary Wu, No. 1 from the East, in the other semifinal.
Junior Corby Svihovec and senior Parker Krom of Legacy, the top doubles seed from the West, remains in the running for a state championship.
They'll meet the Cinderella team, John Wuitschick and Jack Wanzek of Fargo Davies in an 11:30 semifinal match. The Wuitschick-Wanzek combo, No. 6 from the East, has taken down the No. 3 West and No. 2 East seeds en route to the semifinals.
Mason Urlacher and Ethan Raan of West Fargo Sheyenne, No. 7 from the East, face the East Region's top-seeded team, Geoffrey Youngs and Max Olson of Fargo South, in the other doubles semifinal.

Urlacher-Raan has run off upsets of the No. 2 seed from the West and the No. 3 seed from the East to reach the final four.
Fargo South won its third championship in the last five seasons in Thursday's team competition, downing defending champion Grand Forks Central 3-2 in the finals.
South, 12-3, prevailed by getting wins from all three singles players -- Geoffrey Youngs, Max Olson and Austin Zurn.
Central, No. 3, and South, No. 2, were both seeded behind East Region kingpin Grand Forks Red River. Central upended Red River 3-2 in the semifinals, Red River's first setback of the season.
Red River defeated Fargo Davies 4-1 for third place and Legacy won the consolation title by rolling over Jamestown 5-0. The Sabers finished the season 19-3. The consolation bracket consisted entirely of West Region teams.
