The Class AAA showdown is an all-city championship, of sorts, as undefeated and No. 1-ranked Bismarck High faces Century in the final of four title tilts on the day.
The 11-0 Demons defeated 10-1 Century 36-22 at the Bowl on Oct. 12. It's the only game all season BHS has had where the final spread was less than three touchdowns.
Bismarck High has won 12 state titles, the last five under current head coach Mark Gibson. The Demons last won it all in 2012. Kickoff Friday is at 6:40 p.m.
Century has two state championships, both under head coach Ron Wingenbach, the last coming in 2016 when it fended off BHS, 27-12.
The Class AA championship is another No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown as Fargo Shanley and St. Mary's square off for the second year in a row.
Coach Dan Smrekar's Saints have won two Class AA titles in a row and four of the last five. Last year's final went the Saints' way, 31-12.
Shanley is moving up to Class AAA next season. Its last 2-A title was in 2012, a 14-6 triumph over Grafton. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
The 9-man championship is a rematch of the 2016 final.
New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin and Thompson, both 11-0, tangle at noon.
The Tommies defeated the Holsteins 54-20 two years ago to claim the 9-man crown.
The Holsteins' lone 9-man title came in 1986.
