Bemidji State scored 35 first-half points and rolled over the University of Mary 52-7 in Northern Sun football action Thursday night.

A 30-minute late start due to lighting did nothing to slow up the 2-0 Beavers, who outgained the Marauders 496-197 despite playing with starting quarterback Brandon Alt, who is injured.

Jared Henning, Bemidji State's backup quarterback, threw for 191 yards and four touchdown passes. Five different Beavers had TD catches in the game. Bryce Duffy had two. Bemidji State had 259 yards passing and 237 yards rushing.

The Beavers also got a defensive touchdown when Michael Junker returned a Logan Nelson interception 38 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

The Marauders’ lone score came late in the third quarter on a 40-yard touchdown connection from Nelson to Leo Vecchi.

The Marauders (0-2) host Minot State on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.
