New head football coach at the University of Mary Craig Bagnell has hired five assistant coaches to his staff.
Joining the Marauders are Dickinson native Brett Holinka as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, Mark Martin as offensive coordinator/offensive line coach, Jordan Noskowiak as wide receivers coach and Matthew Splon as defensive backs coach. Ben Davis, a five-year veteran assistant coach at U-Mary, remains on staff as the defensive line coach.
"I am excited about the guys joining our staff and trust all of them," said Bagnell, who was hired by his alma mater on Dec. 5. "This is a group of great, young energetic football minds who are dedicated to making the Marauders football program successful."
Holinka brings a 3-4 defensive scheme to U-Mary from Winona State where he had been the special teams and linebackers coach at Winona State. He played football, earning all-conference honors, for U-Mary athletic director Dale Lennon at the University of North Dakota.
Martin had been at Northern State as offensive coordinator. He held the same post at Jamestown College prior to joining NSU head coach Tom Dosch in Aberdeen.
Noskowiak played for and then coached with Bagnell at Bemidji State. He earned honorable mention honors as a wide receiver for the Beavers.
Splon comes to U-Mary from Winona State where he worked alongside Holinka as a graduate assistant. He was a three-time all-academic selection during his playing days at Winona State.
Davis is a holdover from the previous coaching staff at U-Mary. A five-year coaching veteran with the Marauders, Davis has coached defensive line, offensive line and running backs at U-Mary.
