MINOT STATE SWEEPS MARAUDERS

Minot State picked up its first Northern Sun win of the season on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over the University of Mary.

Shelby Spluller paced the Beavers with 11 kills in their 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 victory.

Sydney Murphy had 33 assists and three blocks for the Marauders (3-7, 0-3).

Katja Berge clubbed a team-best 12 kills for the Marauders, who host St. Cloud State on Friday at 6 p.m. 

SCHUETTE EARNS NSIC AWARD

Jaiden Schuette has been named the NSIC's Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Schuette, a senior from Bismarck, won the Dragon Twilight in Moorhead in a time of 17:47.30 in the first meet of the season for the University of Mary, which also won the team title.

The Marauders' next meet is Sept. 29 in Minneapolis at the Roy Griak Invitational.

ZIEGLER SINKS ACE

Dennis Ziegler of Bismarck made a hole-in-one on Monday at Tom O'Leary Golf Course.

Ziegler aced the 116-yard No. 14 hole using a 9-iron.

Witnesses were Terry Ness and Dave Schneider.

STARION SUGGEST TICKET LOCATION

To help alleviate congestion at the football field at the Starion Sports Complex in Mandan, the ticket booth on the north end of the building will be open to purchase game tickets.

The visiting team is being instructed to sit on the east side of the complex, making the north ticket gate more convenient to purchase tickets.
