The Bismarck Bobcats have added Alexander Trombley, a 16-year-old forward, to help fill the holes left by the departure of two key players over the Christmas break.
Trombley, who is from Howell, Mich., is committed to play hockey at Division I Ohio State University.
"Alex is a big player, especially for his age, and has tremendous skill and grit that we're excited to add to our lineup," Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie said.
Ty Enns, a 14-goal scorer, was released Dec. 13 and Jared Resseguie has joined the University of Denver, giving the Bobcats roster room for forwards.
Trombley, 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, joins the Bobcats after scoring six goals and assisting on two more while paying for the Belle Tire U16 team in the Tier I Elite Hockey League.
"I think, more than anything, I wanted to play at the junior level to improve my game against bigger, older competition," said Trombley, who will be in uniform tonight when the Bobcats take on Minot in NAHL action at the VFW Sports Center.
