Jamestown's Mason Walters put up a shot over Bismarck Saint Mary's defender Holten Bradley during Friday night WDA semifinal game in Bismarck. After beating Mandan on Thursday in the quarterfinals, the Blue Jays soared past St. Mary's in the semifinals on Friday.

After being stunned by Jamestown in the quarterfinals on Thursday, No. 4-ranked Mandan rebounded in loser-out play on Friday.

The No. 4-ranked Braves eliminated Bismarck High 66-57 at the West Region tournament at the Bismarck Event Center. The Demons, the No. 2 seed, went 0-2 and were eliminated.

Trey Wiest led the Braves with 17 points. Elijah Klein posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds plus two blocked shots. Trae Steckler totaled 15 points and seven rebounds. Camren Steckler was also in double figures with 13 points.

Ian Schafer led all scorers in the game with 23 points for the Demons. Matt Troilliey added 10.

Mandan and Minot, the No. 3 and 4 seeds in the tournament, square off on Saturday for a trip to the state tournament in Fargo.

Dickinson 71, Legacy 63

Dickinson, seeded eighth, kept its season alive by eliminating Legacy, 71-63.

The Midgets took 36 free throws in the game, making 27. Legacy went 7-for-14 from the stripe.

Krew Mathern scored 24 points on 9 of 11 shooting. He also had eight rebounds for the Midgets who face St. Mary's on Saturday in a state qualifier.

Braden Selinger and Connor Hoenke had 13 points each.

Jason Hoekstra and Braxton Erhardt combined for 30 points for the Sabers with 15 each. Austin Wolf added 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals.


Jamestown 65, Dickinson 60

Courtney Peterson and Megan Gaffaney combined for 38 points in Jamestown's 65-60 loser-out win over Dickinson.

Peterson had 20 points, eight rebounds and three 3-pointers for Jamestown. Gaffaney popped in 18 points and dished out five assists.

The Blue Jays face No. 2-ranked St. Mary's in the first game of the day on Saturday at 11 a.m., in a state-qualifier.

Gabrielle Jung poured in a game-high 24 points for the Midgets.

Bismarck 55, Minot 47, OT

Bismarck outscored Minot 9-1 in overtime for a 55-47 victory in a loser-out game.

Cadee Ryckman led the Demons with 14 points. Hannah Golus added 8 points and 9 rebounds for the Demons, who face Legacy in a state-qualifier on Saturday.

Brenna Tschetter's 11 points topped Minot.
