U-MARY BASKETBALL ADDS ASSISTANTS

Mike Annese has been hired as an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Mary.

Annese was a player at Colorado State while current Marauders' head coach Josh Kittell was an assistant coach for the Rams under current Nebraska head coach Tim Miles.

Annese had been assistant coach the past three seasons at Truman State University. 

"I'm very excited to reconnect with Mike and add him to our staff," Kittell said.

Also, Kittell has added Montel Vidot as the Marauders graduate assistant coach. Vidot had been the student manager on the Oklahoma State men's basketball team. He graduated from OSU this spring.

GILLUND NAMED ALL-REGION

 Bismarck State College shortstop Spencer Gillund has been named to the NJCAA All-Region 13 baseball team.

 Gillund, a sophomore from Enderlin, hit .394 with 19 home runs and 96 RBIs in his two seasons with the Mystics. This spring he hit .364 with six round-trippers and 33 RBIs.

 Over the summer Gillund will play with the Northwoods League's Bismarck Larks. In the fall he'll attend North Dakota State University.

MAHAN COMMITS TO ST. JOHN'S

 Three-year North American Hockey League veteran Michael Mahan has committed to play hockey at St. John's University of the Minnesota Interscholastic Athletic Conference.

 Mahan, a forward who was acquired by the Bobcats during the 2016-17 season, scored 19 goals and had 14 assists in his 89 games with Bismarck.

 At St. John's, Mahan will join former Bobcats Mattt Perry and Cole Souto.
