RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) -- Tyler Nevin had two hits and scored two runs as the Lancaster JetHawks defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 6-2 on Wednesday.
Down 3-1 in the fourth, Rancho Cucamonga cut into the lead when Connor Wong hit a solo home run.
Lancaster answered in the top of the next frame, scoring three runs to extend its lead. Wes Rogers drove in two runs and Vince Fernandez drove in one en route to the four-run lead.
Rancho Cucamonga missed a scoring opportunity in the seventh, when Omar Estevez struck out with the bases loaded to end the inning.
Lancaster left-hander Ty Culbreth (5-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Austin Hamilton (1-1) took the loss in the California League game after allowing three runs and five hits over four innings.
Wong homered and singled for the Quakes.
