TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Nick Nelson allowed just three hits over six innings, leading the Tampa Tarpons over the Dunedin Blue Jays in a 6-2 win on Thursday.
Nelson (1-1) picked up the win after he struck out six and walked one while allowing one run.
Trailing 1-0, the Tarpons took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Kellin Deglan hit a two-run single and Hoy Jun Park hit an RBI single en route to the two-run lead.
The Tarpons later added a run in the third and two in the eighth. In the third, Alexander Palma hit an RBI double, while Isiah Gilliam hit a two-run home run in the eighth.
Patrick Murphy (2-3) went five innings, allowing four runs and seven hits in the Florida State League game. He also struck out two and walked two.
