BARTELS HOMERS IN LARKS' WIN
Carson Bartels hit a solo home run and a run-scoring double as the Bismarck Larks defeated La Crosse 5-1 on Sunday in Northwoods League baseball action.
The Larks earned a split of the series in La Crosse, improving to 16-10 on the season.
Bartels scored Matthew Warkentin with a double in the second inning, then clubbed a solo homer in the fourth.
Michael Farnell continued his hot hitting for the Larks, going 3-for-5 with an RBI. Kyle Stevens added a pair of knocks and an RBI.
Bismarck starting pitcher Cruz Daddario went 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits, to earn the win.
The Larks are back in action tonight, traveling to Waterloo, Iowa for the first of a four-game series.
MOORE LEADS LYNX TO ROAD WIN
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Maya Moore scored 23 and Sylvia Fowles added 20 to help the Minnesota Lynx beat the Las Vegas Aces 88-73 on Sunday.
Rebekkah Brunson and Seimone Augustus added 11 points each for the Lynx (7-6), who won their fourth straight and fifth of the last six.
Minnesota never trailed, outscored the Aces 32-20 in the third quarter and maintained the lead throughout the fourth.
Fowles was 9 of 13 from the field and Minnesota made 38 of 69 (55.1 percent).
