10 YEARS AGO (2009): In a fight to the finish, top-ranked Linton eked out a 55-52 win over Dickinson Trinity at the Civic Center Class B Jamboree. Trinity is ranked sixth in the state. Linton used a late surge to overcome a five-point deficit. Derek Roemmich scored 17 points for the winning Lions. Aaron Grinsteinner was Trinity's top point-producer with 16. Linton upped its record to 10-0 with the win. The Titans slid to 9-2.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): B.J. Keller scored at 3:59 of overtime as Bismarck narrowly escaped an upset hockey loss at Bottineau. Mark Erickson scored two goals for Bismarck, now 10-0 in the West Region. Aaron Eisenzimmer had two goals and two assists for Bottineau, now 1-7 in regional play.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): Dickinson State College met, and severely battered a touring Black Hills State club wrestling team 36-5. Bruce Henke at 115 pounds and Pat Defoe at 145 secured pins for Dickinson.
