10 YEARS AGO (2009): Top-ranked Bismarck rolled to an 89-43 road victory over St. Mary's. The Demons led 42-27 at halftime. Four players reached double figures for BHS with Jalen Finley leading the way with 21 points. Davis Becker with 10 was the only St. Mary's player to reach double figures.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): Former Bismarck High School hockey standout Mike Peluso has been named to the roster for the upcoming American Hockey League All-Star game. Peluso plays for Portland, Maine, the Washington Capitals' affiliate in the AHL. Peluso has 10 goals and 17 assists for the Pirates, who are 22-12-8.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): Rollie Pirkl blocked a shot and swished a pair of free throws in the final 20 seconds to ice Dickinson's 57-54 victory over Dickinson Trinity. Joel Howard was Dickinson's driving force with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Howard Sage was Trinity's go-to man with 22 points.

Trivia Answer

The previous record for rushing yards in a playoff game was 191 by Marcus Allen for the Los Angeles Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII on Jan. 22, 1984 against Washington. The Raiders won the game, 38-9.
