10 YEARS AGO (2009): Kevin Feeney, one of the most successful football coaches in North Dakota over the past decade, has told his players he will be taking over as head coach at Moorhead, Minn. Feeney, a Bismarck High School graduate and former NDSU quarterback, has taken Fargo South to the state championship game each of the last six seasons, winning three state titles.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): Wilton took the lead with a 20-point second quarter and picked up a 67-63 road victory at White Shield in boys basketball. Dylan Spitzer paced a quartet of Wilton double figure scorers with 19 points. Tyler Charging tossed in 17 for White Shield.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): Ron Fiechtner supplied a 24-point lift as Turtle Lake clipped visiting Mercer 60-52 in Class B basketball. Joe Christensen was Mercer's scoring leader with 15 points.
