With the announcement of Kelly Armstrong as a candidate for the upcoming 2018 election for the U.S. House of Representatives, I believe he is extremely qualified to represent all of North Dakota.
During the 2015 and 2017 legislative sessions I was the lobbyist for the North Dakota Peace Officers Association. My duties required me to observe all the legislators and keep up with issues impacting law enforcement or public safety. Generally those get routed through the judiciary committees of both houses.
Armstrong was a leader in the Senate Judiciary Committee. A lot of my time included sitting in his committee and I observed him handle difficult issues by providing realistic solutions. He obtained support with members of the opposite party on numerous other issues, which will be valuable in the U.S. House of Representatives.
I am a career law enforcement officer, from 1971 through 2016, and have met and observed many different attorneys, both prosecutor and defense attorneys. Armstrong has a history of making the right choices and would be a leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am supporting his candidacy.
