A 16-year-old girl is dead and another teenager is injured after a crash near Tioga.
North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that 27-year-old Samuel Hamilton, of Helena, Mont., was southbound around 11:40 p.m. Saturday on Williams County Road 21 approaching its intersection with North Dakota Highway 1804, about 15 miles south of Tioga, when he failed to stop.
His 2011 GMC Sierra struck the passenger side of 16-year-old Hayden Williams' westbound 2015 Jeep Wrangler, before both vehicles rolled or spun into the ditch.
Emergency personnel extricated Williams and his passenger, both of Williston, from the Jeep before transport to a hospital.
Everyone was wearing seat belts, according to the crash report.
Hamilton was uninjured, while Williams was injured, according to the crash report.
Williams' 16-year-old female passenger died, according to Highway Patrol. Her name will be released Monday.
Williams' Jeep was totaled while Hamilton's vehicle sustained front end damage, according to the crash report.
The crash report also indicated a wet roadway and fog at the time of the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
North Dakota Highway Patrol, Tioga Ambulance and the Williams County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
