North Dakota Highway Patrol squad car

North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified two people killed Friday morning in a head-on crash with a semi near New Town.

Twenty-eight-year-old David Wilcox, of Tempe, Ariz., and 22-year-old Taylor Denny, of Phoenix, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash with a semi driven by 63-year-old Douglas Landis, of Dagmar, Mont., according to a crash report.

Landis was the only one wearing a seat belt. He was driving east on State Highway 23 Business when he lost control on the snow-covered road on a curve, and struck Wilcox and Denny head-on in their westbound pickup.

Landis was uninjured.
