Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the U.S. and North Dakota flags at half-staff until midnight in remembrance of U.S. Rep. Donald McEachin, D-Virginia, who died Monday at age 61.

Burgum encourages North Dakotans to also lower flags at their homes and businesses. His directive is in accordance with federal regulations regarding flag displays when a member of Congress dies.
