A judge has refused to move the trial of a former Williston Catholic school teacher accused of sexual abuse.
Lawyers for Everest Moore had sought a change of venue, but Northwest District Judge Josh Rustad on Monday ruled that Moore's attorneys hadn't proven that it would be impossible to convene a fair jury in Williams County.
Moore was arrested in March 2018 and is accused of inappropriately touching eight students at St. Joseph Catholic School. He faces eight felony counts of gross sexual imposition.
Rustad said lawyers for both sides will have the chance to seek dismissal of potential jurors for cause in advance of the trial, which is scheduled to begin Sept. 23.
