A two-vehicle crash 28 miles south of Mandan killed a 27-year-old Mandan woman.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday on state Highway 1806, according to the Highway Patrol.

Caitlin Towry was traveling north on Highway 1806 and Jack Thomas was traveling south. Towry crossed the center line and struck the left side of a horse trailer being pulled by Thomas. After striking the horse trailer, Towry’s vehicle left the roadway and entered the east ditch.

Towry was transported to CHI St. Alexius-Bismarck where she was pronounced dead, the Highway Patrol said. Thomas and his two passengers were not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
