A Sanford Health employee faces theft charges after reportedly admitting to taking more than $12,000.
Nicole Lynn Bunnell, 41, of Mandan, faces Class B felony theft for allegedly pocketing $12,300 in fraudulent returns between August and mid-September. A coworker reportedly discovered the fraudulent transactions after an audit of the hospital and saw Bunnell via security footage making the transactions.
Court documents say Bunnell admitted to creating fraudulent transactions while at Sanford. She reportedly took the sums of money she had allegedly created after collecting money from her register as usual to deposit after her shift. Another coworker told police Bunnell used another employee's log-in information to make the bad transactions.
Bunnell could face as many as 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, if convicted. Her bond was set at $5,000.
