Downtowns across the United States are experiencing revitalization and Bismarck is no exception. Hundreds of local businesses and property owners in Bismarck have made the investment in our city center, realizing that every city needs an identity, a place to gather together, and an area that connects us to legacies made by citizens long past.
The Downtown Business Association of Bismarck, our members and supporters have worked hard to create a renaissance in Bismarck’s downtown. Those efforts are now bearing fruit.
Whether it’s the small boutique, growing start-up, restaurant, service business, entertainment venue, cornerstone business or organization, this growing revitalization benefits our entire community.
Our mission at the Downtowners is to serve and support the growth and development of downtown Bismarck for our members and the entire community. Our businesses and organizations employ our friends and neighbors, give back to our community and work to make Bismarck a unique destination.
So who are Downtowners? Two-thirds of our membership is small businesses, employing fewer than 10 people. Ninety-two percent of our membership is local or independent businesses.
We also have many members from outside of the traditional downtown Bismarck boundaries that are supporters of our organization because they, too, want to be a part of this unique revitalization for our community. We have two full-time staff members and a working board of 12 dedicated people from our membership who volunteer to serve.
Our members, staff and board attend various meetings, sit on committees and volunteer with organizations throughout our community. We work to provide respectful views on the future of Bismarck.
The Downtowners have many interests in the future of our city. The most important interest is serving our entire community.
