Zach Honeyman

DICKINSON — Service of Remembrance for Zach Honeyman, 28, Dickinson, formerly of Hettinger, will be held at 3 p.m. MDT Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Hettinger Armory. The Rev. Kathleen Dettmann will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. CDT Monday, Aug. 11, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. MDT today followed by a prayer service/gathering of family and friends at 7 p.m. MDT at the Hettinger Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the Funeral on Sunday afternoon at the Armory.

Zachary Ryan Honeyman was born in Hettinger to John and Kim (Jorgensen) Honeyman on June 9, 1986. He grew up in Hettinger. Zach graduated from Hettinger High School in 2004. Following graduation, Zach enlisted in the National Guard and volunteered to go to Iraq with his unit. He was deployed to Iraq from 2005 to 2006 and served his country honorably.

Zach was united in marriage to Briar Vadnie on Nov. 13, 2006. They made their home in Dickinson, where he was presently employed with Nalco-Champion in Dickinson. On March 30, 2014, Zach and Briar were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Aurora Lee Honeyman. He truly loved being with his daughter and wife. Zach loved camping with friends and family, playing board games with his friends, was devoted to the Minnesota Vikings and his dog, Joey.

Zach died in a motor vehicle collision in Dickinson, on Monday morning, Aug. 4, 2014.

Grateful for having shared in Zach’s life are his wife, Briar Honeyman and their 4 month old daughter, Aurora Honeyman, both of Dickinson; his father, John Honeyman; his mother, Kim Honeyman; his siblings, Mike Honeyman, Allison Honeyman (Kelin Hofland) and Lindsey Honeyman; his nieces and nephews, Brynn Honeyman, Austin Honeyman and Emery Hofland; his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Kristi Vadnie; his brother-in-law, Brandon Vadnie; his nieces and nephews, Destiny Vadnie and Gavin Vadnie; his grandparents, Greg and Maree Jorgensen; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Zach was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Sherry Honeyman, Jerald and Mary Elliott and Gordon and Lois Vadnie; and an infant Baby Honeyman.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his daughter, Aurora’s education.
