Lynette Gaye (Hassel) Jacobs, 73, passed away at her home outside of Taylor, Dec. 28, 2017. Memorial service will be held at Bismarck Funeral Home in Bismarck, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Lynette was born in Crosby, to Ruth (Hysjulien) and Henry Hassel on Oct. 5, 1944. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1962. In 1966, she married William Jacobs and from that marriage Carmen, Bryan, and Denise completed their family. Recently, Lynette discovered and was united in love and friendship to her siblings and their spouses, namely Mervyn and Jean Anderson and Wendy and David Grant. She spoke fondly of her newfound affection and love for them.
Lynette was a strong and independent woman who knew how to put in a hard day’s work. She cherished her Norwegian heritage, loved making lefse, and made a trip-of-a-lifetime to Norway. Lynette and Paul enjoyed attending rodeos together, gardening, and taking care of their many pets.
Lynette will be lovingly remembered by her children Carmen Cain (Paul) of Menoken, Bryan Jacobs (Jennifer) of Alexandria, Va., and Denise Cota (Dean) of Horace; her grandchildren Justin (Breanna) Cain, Nathan Cain; Kaytlyn, Amanda, and Dawson Cota; William, Elizabeth, and Emily Jacobs; her great-grandaughter Harper; her sister Vonnie Crawford; and her companion of many years, Paul Gjermundson.
