WILTON -- Lorraine L. Brostrom, 91, Wilton, passed away Sept. 12, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with the Rev. Russell Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born July 3, 1926, in Beulah, to John and Louise (Boeckel) Bloom. She was raised and educated in Wilton, where she graduated from high school in 1946. On June 6, 1948, she married Russell Brostrom in the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. In 1945, she worked for Farmers Oil Company, and after high school, she began working for the U.S. Government as a postal clerk. She continued working as a postal clerk for 34 years. She worked her way up to Postmaster – a position she held for four years – until her retirement in 1984. Lorraine loved photography, reading, and embroidery.
She is survived by one son, Joel Russell Brostrom, Bismarck; two brothers, Marvin (Darlene) Bloom, Valley City, and Donald (Ethel) Bloom, Wilton.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; one brother, Arthur Bloom; and one sister, Rosemary Huhn.
