With the help from his friends and the Bismarck community, one man will be given the support he needs.
Spencer Nastrom hasn't exactly had an easy life. When he was 16, his mother and 5-year-old brother went missing near the Missouri River. Then in 2006, his father was found in a ditch, murdered, near Tuttle.
This past May, his wife, Janelle, died at the age of 24 due to a rare case of strep. Nastrom said he was by her side throughout the entire monthlong battle and now has three young girls to raise on his own.
This Sunday, there will be a benefit for Nastrom and his family. Eric Kubischta, a close friend, has set up the benefit for them.
"The reason I got involved was because I wanted to help the guy out," Kubischta said.
The lunch benefit will go from noon to 4 p.m. at New Song Community Church in Bismarck. All proceeds will go to the family.
