The Mandan Fire Department extinguishes an apartment garage fire Wednesday evening in the Marina Bay area of Mandan. The fire has been ruled accidental.

A fire at a garage structure in Marina Bay in Mandan on Wednesday has been deemed accidental.

The Mandan Fire Department received a call at about 5:40 p.m. of a vehicle on fire inside a garage on the 2700 block of Marina Road Southeast, according to Capt. Shane Weltikol.

Arriving fire crews observed flames through the roof of the garage, Weltikol said. The entire structure, which contained eight double-stall garages, was destroyed, along with nine vehicles.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported except for one firefighter who suffered a minor burn to his hand but was treated at the scene and released, Weltikol said. The fire was extinguished in a little over an hour.
