The opening of a Fargo medical marijuana dispensary — the first in the state — has been pushed back a day.

The Botanist, 4302 13th Ave. South, Suite 19, in Fargo, was scheduled to open on Thursday. The North Dakota Department of Health said in a news release that the dispensary will instead open at 10 a.m. Friday.

"We apologize for any inconvenience the one-day delay in opening may cause qualifying patients and designated caregivers," said Jason Wahl, director of the Division of Medical Marijuana.

More than 130 patients and caregivers have received registry identification cards required to purchase medical marijuana, according to the release.

Patients and caregivers can purchase marijuana products from any dispensary in the state.
