Gov. Doug Burgum has named a new policy director for his office.
Jace Beehler, who has been a policy adviser with Burgum's office since 2017 and worked on his 2016 primary campaign, will succeed Levi Bachmeier, who has accepted a business manager position with West Fargo Public Schools. Beehler's appointment is effective Oct. 1.

“Jace has been a highly effective advocate for several of this administration’s priorities, including the Main Street Initiative, higher education, transportation, commerce, UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum,” Burgum said in a statement.
Beehler has a bachelor's degree in music education from North Dakota State University and a master's in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
