Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., has tapped Odney Advertising president Pat Finken as his U.S. Senate campaign manager.
Campaign communications director Tim Rasmussen and Finken each confirmed the appointment on Thursday.
“Pat started right after Kevin’s announcement of his run for the Senate,” Rasmussen said. “He’s a leading regional political strategist.”
Finken is a frequent supporter and media adviser for North Dakota Republican candidates. As recently as December, he co-hosted a re-election fundraiser for House Majority Leader Al Carlson.
Cramer initially declined to run for Senate in January, with Jared Hendrix to lead his re-election campaign for the House. Rasmussen said Hendrix has remained as deputy campaign manager.
“Jared is a valuable asset for this campaign. We’re going to win with him,” he said.
Finken is taking a leave of absence from Odney, according to Rasmussen.
Cramer is challenging first-term Democratic incumbent Heidi Heitkamp for her Senate seat.
