The Giving Hearts Day event raised more than $13.1 million through 63,586 donations on Thursday for organizations in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, according to preliminary figures.
The total raised surpasses last year's record of $10.7 million.
The event involved 28,044 donors, about 6,300 more than in 2017, according to unaudited figures. Official giving statistics will be released after data is verified.
More than 40 Bismarck-Mandan charities and nonprofit organizations participated. Giving Hearts Day, hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation and the Alex Stern Family Foundation, has raised a total of $54 million.
