Railroad bridge #2

BNSF Railway is in the planning stages for a new crossing over the Missouri River to take over the role of one of Bismarck's oldest and most recognizable landmarks. Important infrastructure serves to support the transport of oil, coal and bioenergy products.

Friends of the Rail Bridge will co-host a public presentation with the Bismarck Historical Society, “History of the Bis-Man Rail Bridge,” at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Meeting Room A of the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.

Robert Hanna, public historian from the Bismarck Historical Society, will present a history of the 1883 railroad bridge to be followed by a discussion of ongoing preservation efforts by Preservation North Dakota and Friends of the Rail Bridge.
