Spanish, Chinese classes to be offered for kids

The Purple School, a company that specializes in teaching foreign languages to children, is holding free classes on Chinese and Spanish Aug. 16 at the Bismarck State College Aquatic and Wellness Center.

The classes are a preview for the extra curricular classes the organization will be setting up for the upcoming school year.

The classes aim to keep kids active as a way to engage them in the language. For instance, the kids will learn words like “run” and “jump” in Spanish by running and jumping.

Chinese for preschool will be held 12:30-1 p.m., Chinese for elementary 1-1:30 p.m., Spanish for elementary 1:30-2 p.m. and Spanish for preschool at 2 p.m. Fall classes start Sept. 20.

Class size is limited and registration is required. For more information, or to register, call 701-205-1962 or email
