Members of the Mandan Education Association have ratified an agreement on a new teachers contract that now goes to the Mandan School Board for approval.

Negotiators with the teachers union and the school district met for the third time last week and reached a tentative agreement, which includes a bump in teachers' salaries.

Under the 2019-21 agreement, all teachers will get a $1,700 increase in pay for the upcoming school year. In 2020-21, teachers will get an $800 increase, as well as bumps in pay based on education and experience.

The Mandan School Board will vote to approve the contract on Wednesday.
