A Mandan man is in custody after law enforcement officials say they found $138,000 worth of methamphetamine in his possession.
Howard Edward Hausauer Jr., 49, was arrested Monday when the Metro Area Narcotics Task Force found 1,379 grams of meth, a gram of heroin, 11 ecstasy tablets, scales, plastic bags and drug paraphernalia in his residence, a police affidavit says.
The task force at about 5:30 p.m. Monday executed a search warrant at Hausauer’s residence. Officers found three cellophane-wrapped bundles of meth in a bedroom closet, the affidavit says. The amount is consistent with drug trafficking, as typical users purchase and possess amounts ranging from 1 gram to 3.5 grams, the affidavit says.
Hausauer is charged in Morton County with felony drug possession with intent to deliver, two felony counts of possession of paraphernalia, and three drug misdemeanors, according to court documents. He also faces misdemeanor drug possession and sex charges in Burleigh County, according to court documents.
An attorney for Hausauer was not listed in court documents. His bail was set at $250,000 during his initial court appearance on Tuesday.
