Two people were injured in a stabbing early Friday morning in Mandan, the second knife attack reported in the city this week.

Mandan police were dispatched at 3:50 a.m. Friday to a residence in the 1400 block of 12th Street Southeast in Mandan for a possible stabbing, said Lt. Pat Haug.

Officers identified two people with injuries from a knife, a 25-year-old female and a 27-year-old male. They were taken to a Bismarck hospital with injuries that were considered to be not life-threatening, Haug said.

Police arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The juvenile was being held at the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan.

Haug said the suspect and the victims were acquainted but he did not have information about the relationship.

On Tuesday, three people were injured in a stabbing in Mandan in the 300 block of 13th Street Northwest. Morton County prosecutors charged Cortez Ramon Lyons with attempted murder and aggravated assault in connection with that incident.
