Renters of storage units are asked to check their belongings after Bismarck Police found thousands of dollars worth of stolen items.

Police found power tools, hand tools, electronics, fishing equipment, camping equipment, hunting equipment, tattoo equipment and other household items during a search in the 2300 Block of East Avenue A in Bismarck. The items recovered are believed to have been stolen from storage units in the past three or four months.

"We are asking that persons who rent storage units to go to their units to check if it has been entered and had items stolen," police said in a statement. "The suspects have been replacing some of the cut locks with new locks to delay the discovery of the burglary."

One arrest has been made so far. Anyone with information about the recent storage unit burglaries is asked to call the Bismarck Police Department at 701-223-1212.
