Bismarck police are investigating the death of a man found shot Friday afternoon, but have not said whether the death is suspicious.

Officers were called to an unattended death at an apartment building on the 1000 block of West Turnpike Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, according to Sgt. Noah Lindelow. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old Mandan man dead.

Police have not released the circumstances of his death. The name of the man is being withheld pending family notification.

Lindelow said officers interviewed multiple witnesses at the apartment but no arrests were made.

"We're just trying to sort out the details," he said, adding that additional information may be released on Sunday.
