Robbery suspect

The Bismarck Police Department released this image of a suspect in the robbery of U.S. Bank in Bismarck in January. A man believed to be from California and now in custody in New Jersey has now been indicted in the January robbery of a Bismarck bank.

The man captured on surveillance video in a Jan. 15 bank robbery in Bismarck is still at large.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash from U.S. Bank on East Expressway in Bismarck after approaching a bank teller and saying “this is a robbery.” No weapon was displayed.

In the days following the robbery the Bismarck Police Department was following up on tips and planning to review video of the suspect. Anyone with information can call 701-223-1212 or leave an anonymous tip by calling 411.

The robbery was reported about 9:17 a.m. The man is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a dark beard. He wore black glasses, gray pants and a black shirt during the robbery.
