The Martin Luther King Holiday Commission will host a community celebration of the holiday at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck.
 
Music will be provided by Adonai Evangelical Church led by Pastor Amos Byamungu, and the Bismarck State College Chamber Choir, led by Jeffrey Stone. The keynote speaker will be Joseph McNeil Jr., who will share his life experiences growing up with his father, Joseph McNeil Sr.  
 
McNeil Sr., who as a college student, was one of the Greensboro Four who sat in at the Woolworth counter in Greensboro, N.C., on Feb. 1, 1960. McNeil Sr. went on to become a major general in the United States Air Force.
 
McNeil Jr. is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, a former Tribal Council member and is president of Standing Rock Industries.
