Bismarck police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening in south Bismarck.

At about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 700 block of South 12th Street for a report of a possible fight between four to five people, according to a news release from the police department.

About a half hour later, police got another call from the same location of a person lying on the ground. Officers responded and found a 16-year-old boy with injuries consistent with being stabbed. The boy was taken to the hospital.

Officer Lynn Wanner said no other details about the incident, including the condition of the boy, will be released due to the ongoing investigation.

The boy's name will not be released because he is a juvenile, she said.
