Warrant issued in pot-growing case

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a second person police say was involved in growing marijuana plants in a Bismarck home where children could come in contact with them.

A warrant for Carlos Mendez Jr. was issued Thursday, court documents show. He and Michelle Aaron, 33, who made her initial court appearance in the case Monday, are accused of operating a marijuana growing operation in bedrooms where children often spent time, police allege. Aaron was arrested Sunday after police responded to a reported domestic dispute.

Mendez is charged with two felony drug counts, felony child endangerment, and misdemeanors for domestic violence and interfering with an emergency phone call.

Police said they seized “a large amount” of marijuana plants, a ventilation system and irrigation devices from the home.
